Me In The Middle

Terms and Privacy

We use cookies for Google Analytics which is a program that lets us know how many visitors came to the site and which country they are from. It does not tell us your name, your address, the name of your cat or your bank account details, but just enough for us to keep a rough track.

We also serve ads using Google Adsense and those ads use cookies for various things. Again, they will not follow you to the pub, get on the same bus as you or sit on the front wall outside your house, but they will keep a rough track of what ads you have seen from where. It might be irritating, but if enough of you visit it will help us pay for our server... possibly.

We use the Disqus comment system for comments on this website. This means your comments are not kept on our servers and we do not retain any registration information about you. You can comment by registering on Disqus or by using your Facebook, Twitter or Google account.

Commenting on articles on Me In The Middle is on the basis that you are polite, don't swear and do not get angry. If another user's comments or an article wind you up, go and swear about it on Twitter, but do not make this website unpleasant for regular visitors - not yours to do.

Persistently annoying gits will get kicked off and their posts eliminated.

Spammers will be flagged up to Disqus.

Probably better than most blogs simply because we do not have a built in comment system. We will not ask you for your name, your email or your inside leg measurement, so it is pretty difficult for us to sell that information to anyone if we wanted to, which we don't.

If this goes really well we might start a newsletter one day - if that happens we will rewrite this bit. For now, apart from the analytics, your privacy is pretty much your own affair.

Important Note: Most people's privacy gets compromised because they did not take security and privacy seriously. There are thousands of little shits out there wanting to part you from your personal information - do not give them the opportunity. Use difficult passwords everywhere and keep information either encrypted or off your machines completely. If you are not doing business on the net where people need to know who you are, do not tell anyone - lie if you want. If you have trouble remembering passwords, use a password storage system like Keepass.
